Star Chef

Overview

The idea behind Star Chef was to make an open space exploration game that didn't revolve killing aliens and fighting space pirates.  I wanted exploration and discovery to be the core experience.

Our team adapted the concept to be a relaxing cozy game.  You play the owner of a failing restaurant relegated to serving uninspiring meals in a glactic backwater.  Until, that is, she encounters a space trader who opens up a whole universe of exotic ingredients.  

Your character embarks on a journey of discovery, on a quest to invent new culinary creations to delight her customers, and eventually earn her restaurant a place in the Galactic Capital!

Gameplay mechanics

Star Chef is an open universe RPG game that has mechanics typical of this genre, including a quest and objective system and a fully-voiced dialogue.

The prototype of this game focuses on the quest and dialogue mechanics, as well as the general level design.
